Tips for Maintaining Energy During the Cold Days
As the cold season begins, we may start to feel low on energy and motivation. The trainers at Form Factory share a few tips on how to stay active, give your body time to recover, and maintain your energy levels throughout the winter months.
1. Regularly supplement vitamin D for more energy
During the winter, we get less sunlight, which means we can’t produce enough vitamin D on our own. A lack of vitamin D often leads to fatigue and a drop in mood. To combat this, consider taking high-quality supplements or eating foods rich in vitamin D, such as fish or fortified dairy products. Vitamin D supports our immune system and is crucial for maintaining energy levels throughout the winter.
2. Exercise as a natural source of endorphins
One of the best ways to boost endorphin production – the “feel-good hormones” – is through physical activity, in any form. Endorphins help improve mood and reduce stress. “A short, intense workout or group classes at our fitness clubs will not only help you stay active but also combat the seasonal mood dip,” says trainer Veronika from Form Factory.
3. Take advantage of the sauna for recovery and relaxation
“The sauna is the perfect place to reduce tension, boost circulation, and promote overall recovery after a workout. Regular sauna sessions help improve circulation, relax muscles, and support natural detoxification in the body. Additionally, the calming effects of the sauna contribute to a better mood and overall well-being during the winter months,” explains Veronika. You can find saunas in almost every Form Factory fitness club.
